
Chelsea Erickson has been a professional dance instructor since 2014. She graduated from Alma College with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance, English, and Communication. While in school, she performed leading roles such as Diamond Fairy in The Sleeping Beauty, soloist in Paquita, Lead Mirliton in The Nutcracker, amongst others. She also participated in an international dance exchange through the Tainan University of Technology, where she was personally selected for two collaborative pieces.
Since graduating, she has taught in many studios and pre-professional academies throughout the Metro Detroit area. Her favorite styles are contemporary and ballet, though she also teaches jazz, lyrical, hip hop, tap, and musical theatre. She also coached rhythmic gymnastics for 5 years at Oakland Rhythmic Gymnastics, and has choreographed the Spring musical at Novi high school since 2016. She won “Best Choreographer” at the Detroit regional World Ballet Arts competition in 2015.
Her favorite things to teach are cool partnering and floor work! She loves introducing her students to new movement in a nurturing and supportive environment!
